Child Development Foundation (CDF) launched a project for reintegration of demobilized and vulnerable child

in Al-Gezira State, in collaboration with Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration

Commission (DDR) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Upon his addressing the enlighten workshop for leaders and decision makers, the Director of the Child Development Foundation  Dr. Omar Ghandeel revealed that the budget of the project is about 2.7 million pounds, which aims to cover 4,425 children with education, health and vocational training services, he reviewed the objectives of the Foundation towards the care, rehabilitation and protection of children and providing life services including Education, health, vocational training and primary health care. Ghandeel announced that the duration of the project is one year targets the children in Al-Thawra Mobi, Al-Rahmania and Al-Mansoura areas in Al-Gezira state, he stressed that the success and sustainability of the project is based on training and rehabilitation and capacity building of children.

Form his part, the Director General of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Al-Gezira State, Ghamr Aldawla Mohammad Ibrahim, stressed the importance of activating the role of partners in order to provide a decent life for demobilized children and reintegrate them into society through providing psychosocial support services. He hoped that the workshop will come out with visions and proposals that serve the community and children. He thanks the efforts of Child Development Foundation, UNICEF and the Disarmament Commission.

The UNICEF’s representative Mahjoub Khalafallah reviewed the programs and projects for the reintegration of demobilized children carried out by UNICEF and its partners through 200 centers in the Sudanese states, he declared the organization's readiness to finance all the needs of the integration project in Al-Gezira state financially and technically in order to provide of a decent life for children.

The project for the reintegration of demobilized child provides physical and psychological recovery of children through its activities that play an important role in transferring children from war and conflict to peace and stability position.
