CDF organizes awareness campaign on unexploded ordnance (UXO) in South Darfur

On 14 March 2019, Child Development Foundation (CDF) organized an awareness campaign among communities in Mershing Locality in South Darfur on risks of unexploded ordnance; Gender based violence and child protection.
Unexploded ordnance (UXO) threats safety and security of Darfur’s communities especially children. Focusing on raising awareness about UXOs CDF’s Sub-office Director in South Darfur State Ahmed Elbushra explains that many UXO incidents occur in rural areas or on the outskirts of towns, he explaining that CDF specifically targets rural areas, schools and camps for displaced persons with workshops designed to build an understanding of the dangers of UXOs, Gender based violence (GBV) and child protection.
This programme of unexploded ordnance (UXO), Gender based violence (GBV) and child protection is funded by UNICEF and designed to ensure that the vulnerable communities and those affected by these incidents get enough knowledge and social assistance they need.
