CDF Trains Women in sewing and embroidery in White Nile State

   As part of its efforts to build capacity among refugee’s women and host communities in collaboration with UNDP and Refugee Commission, CDF’s concluded sewing and embroidery training in Kashafa camp for refugee.

  The training sessions, which were implemented under Humanitarian – Development – Peace Nexus for Refugees in States Bordering South Sudan Project funded by Netherland government, included, sewing, embroidery, and distribution of production means. 27 women benefited from the training programme.

  The objective of such training programmes is to empower women in refugees’ camp and enable them to successfully generate income, thereby preventing them from resorting to criminality or conflict.

  Addressing the event, CDF Sub-office Director, Wali Adiyn albashara, emphasized that the training is an opportunity for the women to play an important role in uplifting their communities. He encouraged all participants to use the acquired skills to contribute effectively to achieving peace and stability in the area. He acknowledged CDF’s efforts in improving the skills of refugees and host communities. He said such trainings are very useful, especially when they target the women, on whom they have great hopes.
