CDF and UNICEF graduate 120 adolescents form Vocational and Handicrafts training in Al Gezira State

The Manager of CDF’s Sub-office in Al Gezira State, Hoyam Omer, said during the graduation ceremony that the vocational and handicrafts training as a part of reintegration of demobilized children and protection of vulnerable children project which funded by UNICEF to demobilize children associated with armed forces and groups, and provide sound protection services for 10,888 vulnerable child since the year 2017.
The representative of UNICEF, Mahgoub Mahgoub, confirmed that UNICEF’s work contributes effectively to building a world where the rights and protection of every child are fulfilled, he said UNICEF is active in Sudan through country programmes, national NGOs and committees to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. Mahgoub expressed his gratitude to Child Development Foundation (CDF) for exceeding expectations.
The General Director of Child Development Foundation (CDF), Dr. Omer Mukhtar GINDEEL stated that the vocational and handicrafts training received by the trainees in Al Gezira State is one of the transitions programmes that CDF jointly with UNICEF is mandated to implement to ensure effective protection through provision of livelihood-skills training to the most vulnerable groups especially the at risk children who are vulnerable to violent crime and recruitment to armed or criminal groups.
The Governor of Al Gezira State, Ahmed Sebiar, praised the contributions of Child Development (CDF) and UNICEF in supporting vulnerable communities in the state, especially the child sector, he expressed his gratitude to CDF and UNICEF for providing such an important capacity-building program for targeted communities in Al Gezira State.
The graduates expressed their gratitude to CDF and UNICEF for providing them with such an important capacitybuilding
program. They pledged to use their knowledge they have acquired for the benefit of their families and the localities in Al Gezira State.
At the end of graduation ceremony each trainee has been awarded a certificate and set of tools as a start-up support to their related activities.
