Increasing access to livelihood and employment opportunities to reduce vulnerability and reduce the risk of tension among Tigray refugee community and Doka community.

Project duration: 6 Months

Beneficiaries: 3,030 Individuals

Activities:

In Doka Admin Unit (Doka village) to increase livelihood and employment opportunities.

1- Agricultural supports ( rain-fed agriculture ) with the provision of improved seeds and farming tool along with Training introducing new technology and knowledge from environmental sensitive approaches.

2- Conduct training on better livestock rearing (different livestock – goats, camel and cow, etc.) targeting the vulnerable HHs with limited IGA opportunities.

3-  Establishment of small workshop for youth’s income generating activities- leather production with the provision of start-up package.

4- The creation of cleaning services for the most vulnerable women.

5- Conduct a regular monitoring of the farmer’s practices and conduct post assessments including cost benefit analysis.

Activities:

In Aatbrawie Admin Unitv(Um Rakuba, Tawariet and Rashid) to increase livehood and employment opportunities.

1- Agricultural supports (rain – fed agriculture) with the provision of improved seeds and farming tool along with training introducing new technique and knowledge from environmental sensitive approaches.

2- Vocational training for male youths on mechanics and electricity with startup packages:( a mobile phone maintenance; b maintenance of tractors; c Tuk Tuk mechani).

3- The establishment of nursery for fruit and forest tree seeding.

4- Awareness campaign targeting the Tigray refugee and host community on the importance of tree via media and workshop

5- Conduct a regular monitoring of the farmer’s practices.
