CDF participates in UNHCR Regional Workshop in Kenya

Child Development Foundation CDF has participated in UNHCR regional workshop dedicated to protect child refugees from Sudan and South Sudan States, which organized by United Nations High Commission for Refugees UNHCR Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya, from 14 to 17 November 2017,
The regional workshop attended by 40 experts representing UN agencies, humanitarian organizations and national protection systems in the hosted States for child refugees from Sudan and South Sudan.
CDF Programme Manager, Elsiddig Mun Elsied who attended the workshop in Nairobi, said UNHCR and it’s partners developed a regional framework for the protection of refugee children from Sudan, South Sudan in neighboring countries, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.
He mentioned that the developed regional framework for the protection of refugee children supported South Sudan refugee children response process in regional countries. The framework will support the coordination process which aims to achieve Child protection priorities. Through the workshop the participants reviewed the situations of the refugees in hosted countries and South Sudan Country.
The workshop recommended to enhancing the national protection systems and providing protective and strong environment for child refugees, in addition to strengthening coexisting between child refugees and host communities.
