Child Development Foundation CDF has participated in Qatar international Conference titled “Parenting, Child Wellbeing, and Development” in collaboration with UNICEF Middle East and North Africa conducted on the 23-24 Oct 2018 at St. Regis Hotel Doha. Under the patronage of her highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.
The conference brought together a network of leading policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of civil society organizations. The event was also attended by many academics, as well as child and family advocates, to discuss and debate parenting issues and propose possible interventions.
During the conference, attendees addressed issues such as the importance of parenting; supporting working parents; parenting in the digital era; investing in parenting education programs; and parenting children living with disabilities. The sessions focused on parenting program costs and their return, methods of data collection and evaluation, and best practices.
The conference concluded by sharing the ‘Civil Society Statement on Parenting’. The statement was the result of a pre-conference meeting for civil society organizations organized by Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) and the International Federation for Family Development (IFFD).
Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), through its projects and initiatives, aims to highlight the importance of family issues in the Arab world and make them a priority for policy-makers on local, regional, and international levels.
