Child Development Foundation, board of trustee delegation met Deputy Governor of Khartoum State, Mohammed Hatim Suleiman; the delegation includes Mrs. Widad Yagoup deputy head of board of trustee, Mr. Khalid Hamad member of board of trustee and Dr. Omer Muhktar general director of Child Development Foundation CDF.
Mr. Khalid Hamad, said during the meeting CDF has been working in the fields of child protection and child rights in Sudan since 1999; it targets males and females, who are at risk and vulnerable as, street children, child labor, child soldier, war and conflict child, displaced, school dropout, orphans, and refugees. He praised the role of Khartoum state government in enhancing child protection and their rights.
From his part Child development Foundation CDF general director Dr. Omer Mukhtar confirmed CDF readiness to participate meaningfully with Khartoum state government to find sustainable solution to street Childs, and refugees in the State. He said CDF have highly qualified staffs that are able to implement all the projects that related to child protection. Omer explained that the projects that have been carried out by CDF with local and international partners, let CDF to win united nation economic and social council (ECOSOC) advisory status since 2007.
Mrs. Widad Yagoup said time has come to tackle the problem of street child in Khartoum State. She discovered that CDF is looking for a plot of land to build it is headquarter, so as to enhance its partnerships locally and internationally.
Deputy Governor of Khartoum State, Mohammed Hatim Suleiman confirmed that Khartoum state government is working tirelessly to tackle street child and displaced persons. He welcomed CDF initiative to solve street children and refugees problems through partnerships with government and NGOs. Suleiman pointed to have a joint meeting with Ministry of Social Welfare to discuss current statistics of street children and the joint work plan
