We have completed the rehabilitation of the Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) unit at Mornie Hospital in West Darfur State. The unit serves more than 127,000 people, most of them from displaced families.
The rehabilitated unit gives mothers a safe place to give birth, and newborns dignified care in their first days.
The project was funded by the Government of Norway, with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and in coordination with the West Darfur State Ministry of Health.
We continue our work because every mother has the right to a safe birth, and every child the right to a healthy start. To learn more about our health and nutrition work, visit our Programmes page.
