CDF delegation visits displacement camp schools in At-Tadamon locality

A member of the CDF delegation speaks with community members in a displacement camp in At-Tadamon locality

A CDF delegation led by Director General Dr Omer Gindeel visited the schools in camps 4 and 10 for displaced people in At-Tadamon locality, Blue Nile State, to see how learning is going and what children and teachers need.

The delegation included Programmes Director Mr Hamid Hussein, the state office manager and the education team. They met the parent-teacher associations and head teachers and heard directly about needs and gaps.

The Director General said our first priority is to protect children and expand their access to education, and that a child’s natural place is in the classroom, protected from child labour, recruitment and exploitation. He added that a stable learning environment is the entry point for health, nutrition and protection services.

The Programmes Director praised the determination of children and families to keep learning despite displacement, and the efforts of the parent-teacher associations and school administrations.

We will take the recommendations from the visit to partners and donors to keep these schools running. To learn more about our education work, visit our Programmes page.
