Open day in Village 10 Iskan brings together women’s products, theatre and inclusion

Two CDF staff members display clothes made by women trainees at the open day bazaar

In Village 10 Iskan, New Halfa locality, Kassala State, women trained in income-generating activities displayed their products at an open bazaar, during an open day we organised for the village.

The day combined an awareness drama on the risks of gender-based violence and how to stay protected with interactive theatre on peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution. People with disabilities helped organise and lead the event.

The day was attended by the village omda and members of the community committee, representatives of the Vocational Training Centre and the Department of Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer, and the head of our Kassala office.

The open day is part of the project “Strengthening the Resilience of IDPs, Refugees and Vulnerable Host Communities in Eastern Sudan”, which we implement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
